Glenn Maxwell, Mitch Marsh and Tim David are the Australian big hitters who will really cash in following the draft for English cricket's marquee one-day competition, The Hundred.
The international trio have all been snapped up for the top-bracket price of STG125,000 ($A230,000) for the August 100-ball-a-side tournament with Marsh and the retained Maxwell in tandem at the London Spirit while David will spearhead the Southern Brave.
The first-ever women's draft in UK sport also took place on Thursday, with Northern Super Chargers retaining Alyssa Healy while Grace Harris will go to London Spirit, both for the top-dollar Stg 31,250 ($A57,000).
Australia's women, currently starring in the Indian Women's Premier League, proved in great demand with all-time great Ellyse Perry bound for Birmingham Phoenix.
Perry heads another five internationals who were bought in the second-highest Stg 25,000 ($A46,000) bracket.
Mitchell Starc had been the highest-profile Australian absentee from the men's event, pulling out of consideration on the eve of the draft when he had been expected to fill one of the Stg 125,000 vacancies.
But while plenty of the green-and-gold's leading women players also pulled out, including Ash Gardner, Tahlia McGrath and national captain Meg Lanning, the appetite to buy up Australian talent was still evident with the uncapped Maitlan Brown taken on board by the Southern Brave.
Healy and Harris, the leading Australian women earners, are currently teammates at WPL team UP Warriorz preparing for Friday's semi-final eliminator, with both having been in fine form.
Queenslander Harris, whose older sister Laura will play at Welsh Fire, reckoned she couldn't wait to join up with the Lord's-based Spirit team after being the No.2 pick in the draft.
"It's such a special venue to play at and I'm incredibly excited to play in front of some big crowds there," she said.
"It's nice to be a part of history by being the second pick in The Hundred draft but when you look at the squads, they're all so strong - it's going to be a great competition."
