SUMMARY: Australia are well in control of the second Test at Adelaide Oval. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne each surpassed 150 runs to put the home side in a strong position to declare just before tea. After Australia sent West Indies in, Josh Hazlewood's replacement Michael Neser (2-20) made the most of his second Test cap with two big wickets as the tourists struggled under lights.

MAN OF THE MOMENT: Travis Head set a new personal best with 175, which was also the third-highest total ever scored by a South Australian in a Test at Adelaide Oval. Head was his usually speedy self but a miscommunication between him and Cameron Green ended the No.5's innings with an unceremonious run-out.

KEY MOMENT: Australian quicks Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland looked ominous with the new ball but Neser got the breakthrough in the 14th over by enticing West Indies' best batter from the series opener Kraigg Brathwaite into edging to Alex Carey. Shamarh Brooks soon followed his captain into the sheds, dismissed by Neser in much the same way.

STAT OF THE DAY: With his third century from as many innings this series, Marnus Labuschagne (163) became the second-fastest cricketer in history to reach 3000 Test runs. Labuschagne achieved the feat in his 51st innings on Friday, putting him behind only Donald Bradman, who did it in 33.
