SISTERS Betty Healey and Janet Saunders will honour their mother Bessie Shady in a memorial golf competition today.
About 100 other south-west golfers will also contest the annual stableford teams event.
Terang Ladies Golf Club is hosting the Bessie Shady Bowl for the 40th year.
Healey said she was proud to play in a tournament named after her mother.
"Our family always talked about golf," she said.
"It's an honour to play."
Club president Bett Atkins said players from as far as Apollo Bay and Port Fairy would contest the event.
She said Shady was a respected golf handicapper in Terang.
"The Terang Golf Club thought fit to put on an event in her name," Atkins said.
The host side has entered five teams in the event.
Tee-off is at 9.30am.
