Tonnes of fish have been killed by toxic water in the Curdies River in what authorities have described as a small kill. Local landcare expert Geoff Rollinson said the fish kill had been exacerbated by significant quantities of cow excrement in the river, but the Environmental Protection Authority described the kill as a natural occurrence due solely to an algal bloom.
