After a busy start to the new year, the club made the call to suspend trading from this week until further notice.
Op shop manager and Lions club member Marg Everard said caution was the chosen approach for the foreseeable future.
"it is a precautionary measure to protect our members and other community volunteers," Ms Everard said.
"Most of us are in that vulnerable age group and we want to avoid the dreaded if we can. We might not have any say in it but we will do our best to try and not get it.
"We will keep an eye on how things are going and gauge when we think the best time to re-open is."
