
A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged with making threats to kill and assault with a weapon after a violent incident in Kirkstall on Wednesday night.
A resident in Kirkstall was confronted by the armed man, also a Kirkstall local, who was known to him just after 5.00pm when the man then proceeded to make threats with a knife in the property owner's back yard.
No injuries were sustained in the confrontation.

Koroit police sergeant Patrick Day described the incident as "out of control".
"It appears it was a very heated and volatile situation with the victim being confronted and threatened with a knife at close quarters," he said.
"The male involved was quickly arrested by Koroit police members shortly after walking into Koroit.
"He has been charged and held over night in the police cells and will appear before the Warrnambool Magistrates court this morning."
