FIVE Western Victoria Female Football League exports will don Greater Western Victoria Rebels colours in 2022 in what the NAB League club is calling a major tick for women's footy in the south-west.
Two South Warrnambool prospects - Lucy Jones and Rosie Pickles - have been picked while Jedah Huf, Paige Kissel and Jessica Rentsch will represent Hamilton Kangaroos in the 36-strong squad.

I've come over recently from the Bendigo Pioneers and you can see the growth of the girls' game, especially in Warrnambool, starting to come through.
- Brooke Brown
Rebels talent operations lead Brooke Brown said the sheer numbers was evidence female footy was hitting the mark in the region.
"I've come over recently from the Bendigo Pioneers and you can see the growth of the girls' game, especially in Warrnambool, starting to come through," she told The Standard.
"You can see the development in their skills and knowledge of the game has come through and it's starting to show, allowing these girls to shine in a talent pathways program."

Brown said several south-west players impressed at Sunday's NAB League testing day at LaTrobe University in Melbourne in front of AFLW and VFLW recruiters.
"It was really our first chance to be together as a squad and it was just a great education for the players," she said.
