State Of Class is having his first run for the Warrnambool-based trainer in the $25,000 race after 15 starts for Mornington trainer Paul Rocke.
"It's his first start for me," Baker told The Standard.
"State Of Class is a nice horse but he's coming off a long break. He had bone chips taken out of both fetlocks and he had a really good break. I've been happy with his preparation leading into his first run for me.
"We've done a lot of beach work with State Of Class and he trialled up very well at Mortlake a couple of weeks ago. We had to scratch him from a race last week because he had a bit of a cold but he's over that now. It'll be interesting to see how he performs."
Harry Grace has the ride on lightly-raced four-year-old on Saturday.
Baker, who has nine horses in work at her Warrnambool stables, said she was looking forward to the upcoming local races over the next few weeks.
""It looks like we'll have a busy couple of weeks," she said.
"I would say we'll probably have runners at the Woodford meeting on New Years Eve, Terang on January 2 and at the Koroit and Port Fairy meetings in January.
"The local meetings over the summer period are always popular and the racing is very keen."
The first race at Colac on Saturday is scheduled to start at 1.36pm, with the last set down for decision at 5.16pm.
