Audiences will be entertained by visual projections, lively narration and will have the opportunity to get involved in the Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra's performance at the Lighthouse Theatre this Friday.
It's certainly not your typical orchestral concert, said WSO president John MacInnes.
"It's a real family concert. Children will get caught up in the excitement rather than having to sit quietly," he said.
The enchanting music of Camille Saint-Saëns, composer of the 'Carnival of the Animals', will open the show.
Cast members from the Primary Performers' Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr show that had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 will also perform with the orchestra, as well as dancers, while the ever-popular Dr Nick the Magician is sure to baffle with his magic tricks.
"Conductor Sonia Beal has put together an appealing program that will captivate and delight the young and the young at heart," Mr MacInnes said.
There will be two pianists seated at the Steinway grand piano and special guest cellist, 11-year-old Lachlan Reid from Hamilton, who will play the part of the Swan.
The orchestra will include players from the Robin Wright Ensemble and the Primary Performers' band.
The show starts at 6.30pm on Friday December 17 at the Lighthouse Theatre. Tickets $5 and can be booked online www.lighthousehteatre.com.au, by phone on 5559 4999 or at the box office.
