Nominations for the fourth running of the All-Star Mile opened on Tuesday and close on Monday, January 10.
Trainer Tom Dabernig said Flying Mascot had arrived back at his Warrnambool stable after a five-week break in great shape.
The four-year-old mare won the group three Tesio Stakes and ran fifth in the group one Empire Rose Stakes during the spring.
"We gave Flying Mascot a short break after her runs in the spring," Dabernig told The Standard.
"She came off a seven-day break from the Tesio into the Empire Rose and performed admirably.
"We've got races like the Belmaine Stakes on February 12 and the Mannerism Stakes as the lead in races to the All-Star Mile.
"She has to perform well in those lead-up races to warrant a start in the rich All-Star Mile."
Racing Victoria executive general manager - racing Greg Carpenter said Flying Mascot was an exciting lightly-raced mare.
Dabernig hopes Flying Mascot's large ownership base, which includes Flying Mascot Lucky Mascot syndicate and Ninja Racing, may get her into the final field for the All-Star Mile as from January 24, fans across Australia and New Zealand will be given the chance to select the first 10 horses into the field after a three-week public vote.
