The teenage spin bowler has played the past two games for the all-conquering Tigers, taking 4-10 to dismantle North Warrnambool Eels on Saturday.
Fleming, 17, was given a taste of A grade last season but started the 2021-22 Warrnambool and District Cricket Association campaign in the seconds.
But his effective bowling - he only went for 15 runs off nine overs against Allansford-Panmure too - has impressed skipper Justin Lynch.
"He's bowling really well and against Allansford, on a good batting wicket, he came in and played his role," he said. "He came on in the 11th over and there was a bit of pressure on him. They were going along pretty well and he stemmed the flow of runs."
Fleming, who goes to Ballarat Clarendon College, said he enjoyed the challenge.
"It was awesome. It was good for me to come up and play with my brother (Wil) and cousin (Ryan) and all the older boys who I have been around the club for a long time with," he said.
"My goal would be to hold my spot in the A grade. It's good fun and I love playing it.
"We're 4-0 at the moment. We had a good end to the season last year after having a slow start It's been awesome this year. We're all pretty connected and pretty close and we get along really well which helps for sure."
Merrivale has ample spin options at its disposal including Fleming's brother, cousin and Manny Sandow.
"It will be hard to keep a spot because they are all good spinners in the team," he said.

The Warrnambool footballer is preparing for his final year at Ballarat Clarendon College as a boarder.
Fleming, who has an interest in engineering, moved to the school in year 10.
"It came about through one of my friends from Horsham. I played rep cricket with him and he was moving up here and his mum got onto the school and got me to the school with him to help him out and to pursure my own sporting future," he said.
"I enjoy it. I have made good mates from around Australia which is awesome."
