A cyclist has been taken to hospital after he was involved in an accident at Wangoom today.
It's believed the Warrnambool man, aged in his 50s, is being airlifted to Melbourne for treatment.
Leading Senior Constable Mark Kirby, of the Warrnambool Highway Patrol, said the cause of the incident was being investigated.
The cyclist was heading towards Warrnambool when the incident occurred.
"The incident was a car versus cyclist," Leading Senior Constable Kirby said.
"He's got some injuries and we believe at this stage he will be airlifted to Melbourne."
"We're still investigating but at this stage it looks like he's been clipped by the passenger wing mirror."
Leading Senior Constable Kirby urged motorists to be aware of the large number of cyclists who use the stretch of road.
"Motorists need to be mindful that this stretch of road is used by a lot of cyclists," he said.
"People need to be aware of that and give them a wide berth when they're going around them.
"If it's not safe to pass them, don't pass."
Leading Senior Constable Kirby also urged cyclists to use the bike lane where possible.
"It's a fast road and it's best to stay in your bike lane," he said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics responded to an incident just after 1pm.
She said paramedics assessed a male at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man was taken to South West Healthcare after the incident.
The man was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
"Paramedics treated a man for upper body injuries and he was taken to South West Healthcare Warrnambool in a stable condition," she said.
Meanwhile, two people were taken to South West Healthcare's Warrnambool Base Hospital in another incident that occurred on Raglan Parade.
"Paramedics were called to a traffic incident in Warrnambool just after 1.25pm," the spokeswoman said.
"Two patients have been taken to Warrnambool Public Hospital."
