Cricketer Brody Couch is emerging as a sought-after prospect, signing with Big Bash League franchise Melbourne Stars just weeks after making his Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria.
The Nirranda-raised all-rounder will play in the national competition this summer after spending the 2020-22 season travelling with Melbourne Renegades.
Couch, who has been used mainly as a pace bowler for Victoria at one-day and Sheffield Shield level, started his career in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association.
His brother Jackson told The Standard recently his older sibling was taking his meteoric rise in his stride.
"He's just that humble sort of person who goes about his business and gets it done," he said.
Melbourne Stars start their campaign against Sydney Sixers at the SCG - the same venue where Couch made his Sheffield Shield debut - on Sunday night.
