Association chairperson Gordon McLeod said players had been nominated by their respective clubs to attend to selection nights at Allansford Recreation Reserve on Monday, December 6 and Monday, December 13 from 5pm.
McLeod said there was strong interest in its under 13 club competition with 16 teams competing in two divisions.
There are 20 sides in the under 11 competition.
McLeod said it was "absolutely important" to give children opportunities to play sport, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
"So far this year the interest in young people playing sport has been quite incredible," he said. "We need to give kids an opportunity to play sport and play high-level games against other associations."
McLeod said the under 13 squad included promising players who had impressed at club level.
"Some of them have been involved in the junior development program we ran earlier this year and they were identified from last season," he said.
"But boys and girls develop after a bit of coaching and training. We have had very strong under 13 teams traditionally."
The extended squad is: Allansford-Panmure: Zac Smith, Lachie Rea, Connor Brisbane, Lachlan Primmer; Nestles: Ethan Couch, Hugh Hunter; Brierly-Christ Church: Ned Russell, Brandon Lynch, Lachlan Gome, Josh Campbell; West Warrnambool: Jacob Lucas, Finn Parkinson, Ryder McLean, Jono McKenzie; Merrivale: Rhys Wallace, Fletcher Henry, Beau Gannon; Dennington: Riley Beks, Chad Nevill; Koroit: Mitchell McCosh, Ajay Sonti, Sam White; Port Fairy: Eamon West, Lachlan Lloyd, Aiden Dwyer, Archie Hocking, Hugh Allen; Southern Titans: Nate Johnson, Nathan Finch; Nirranda: Josh McKenzie; Russells Creek: Max Hogan, Zeth Flook, Akein Alwis, Zayan Khanyari; Spring Creek: Dean Starling, Lachlan Jans, Angus Jones; Hawkesdale: Ben Gordon, Edward Morrison, Jordan Dwyer; North Warrnambool Eels: Lachlan Walters.
