WARRNAMBOOL-trained mare Paul's Regret faces a tough task when she runs in the $200,000 Summoned Stakes over 1600 metres at Caulfield on Saturday but her trainer Peter Chow believes the five-year-old will be competitive in the group three contest.

Paul's Regret won her last start in a $150,000 fillies and mares race at Cranbourne earlier this month after running third in a group three event over 1400 metres at Flemington.
Chow said Paul's Regret faces a few hurdles in Saturday's race before adding she deserves to have a crack in better class races.
"We would love to win a group race with Paul's Regret," he told The Standard.
"I'm not sure she'll be good enough to win the Summoned but I've got my fingers crossed she'll run well. It's the first time she's run over 1600 metres.
"Paul's Regret has given us every indication she'll run out a strong 1600 metres but you never know until she's run over the distance. She's also drawn a wide barrier which could be a hindrance to her chances.
"The other hurdle is it's a bloody good field of mares she's running against in the Summoned."
Chow has called on the services of leading local jockey Declan Bates to ride Paul's Regret.
"Declan has a good understanding of Paul's Regret," Chow said.
"He's won a couple of races on her so he's aware of her ability. I'm just hoping Declan will get her in a good position in the early stages of the race."
Paul's Regret is a $19 chance in the early betting markets. Local trainer Maddi Raymond saddles up Wentwood in the $750,000 Zipping Classic over 2400 metres while in-form Warrnambool mentor Tom Dabernig accepted with Spinning in a $160,000 three-year-old fillies race.
