Committee chairperson Donna Gladman said she was excited the event would be held over summer after this year's event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The year prior to that the popular Jazz in the Gardens was cancelled due to poor weather.
Mrs Gladman siad the committee had decided to hold the event across two days instead of three in 2022.
"Wunta traditionally has been predominately funded by many generous local businesses, as well as public donations and while we will still have some of those incredible businesses supporting us, we are conscious of the fact that many local businesses have been doing it tough for the past two years," Mrs Gladman said.
"To reflect this, but still put on a fantastic Wunta weekend, we have made the decision to focus our effort across two days instead of the usual three for this year.
"After being cancelled in 2021 due to COVID and also in 2020 due to weather, we are so excited that Jazz in the Gardens will be back in 2022 on Saturday, February 5 followed by more music and fun in the gardens on Sunday, February 6."
Mrs Gladman said the city's botanic gardens provided a stunning backdrop for a music event.
"As usual, Wunta will focus on celebrating the incredible local musical talent we have in our area.We are also thrilled to be introducing a kid zone in 2022 at the Sunday event."
Mrs Gladman said organisers wanted to create a fun, family friendly event.
"The kid zone details are still being finalised, but so far I can say that there will be arts and crafts as well as music, dancing and definitely lots of fun," she said.
Mrs Gladman said attendees would need to be fully vaccinated.
"To help with making sure we are running a COVID safe event and also to ensure we are running a financially viable fiesta, both days will be ticketed and tickets will be available to buy prior to the event as well as on the day online," she said.
"We will have more details, with pricing and where to purchase available soon."
