On Tuesday, the Kiwi outfit revealed the 39-strong group has been isolating for three days after one person fell ill and tested positive on Sunday.
Breakers owner Matt Walsh, who is with the group, said subsequent testing revealed three extra COVID-19 cases.
"Our team has followed best practices, but unfortunately, a number of individuals have experienced symptoms," Walsh said.
"We will continue to follow the advice of medical professionals and the NBL and look forward to being back on the court soon."
The Breakers have not revealed whether any players have caught the virus.
The touring group is isolating "in their inner-city Melbourne apartments" according to a club media statement.
The Breakers won't play their fourth and final game of the pre-season tournament, and now face a race against time to be ready for their season opener against South East Melbourne Phoenix on December 4.
New Zealand's professional basketball side is on the road until the new year due to border regulations, but hope to return for home games early in 2022.
