The Nick Butters-led side posted just 101 against Port Fairy at Avery's Paddock this past Saturday but managed to dismiss the Pirates for just 97 to snatch a nailbiting victory.
While the pitch - which was described as "sticky" due to weather conditions and rain the day prior - Butters said the Eels would need to buck up their ideas with the stick.

Just two batters - star first-drop Kory Howlett and strike bowler Hank Schlaghecke - managed scores above 20 on their scorecard.
"You aren't going to win too many games with a score like that," he said.
