The home, at 25 Howard Street, had a price guide of $1.35 million to $1.4 million and was set to go under the hammer on Saturday, November 20.
Harris & Wood agent Danny Harris wouldn't confirm the sale price but said there had been strong buyer interest from the south-west and Melbourne with 45 parties viewing the property.
He said the buyers were relocating to the city from outside the south-west. "It was a great result for the owners," Mr Harris said. "It's set a new benchmark for that type of property."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Harris said it was rare to find a large, renovated central property on a 1300-square metre block, with a pool and extra shedding. "It's not a common mix.
"You can find those things in isolation in a lot of different properties but not all in one. That's why we've seen the interest we have."
