It was great to reunite with many of our bowling friends last Saturday on the first day of weekend pennant. Players from City and Terang were looking very colourful in their new uniforms.

Dennington has opted to wear black pants and Mortlake bowlers will be updating their club shirts later in the season.
A reminder that any garments worn for pennant and State Events must have the Bowls Australia logo to adhere to the Bowls Victoria Rules for Attire. This includes headwear, and rainwear, as well as trousers, shorts, skirts, vests and jackets.
At this stage, selectors will be trying out various combinations in their teams to aim for the perfect mix. Last year's division two premier, Dunkeld, made a successful debut in division one with a win over Terang at home.
In a close match, City Gold overcame City Red by 5 shots. Timboon Gold, Warrnambool Gold and Blue and gained maximum points in their first round of pennant. This week last season's finalists, Warrnambool Gold and City Red, should prove an interesting clash.

City Blue had a resounding win at home over Timboon Maroon in division two.
The first week of Midweek pennant was played on Tuesday. Two City teams played in division one with City Sapphires taking a ten shot win over the City Diamonds.
Last season's premier, Timboon Maroon, gained 10 points in their 7 shot win over Port Fairy Gold. In division two, Lawn Tennis had two wins to begin the season.
The first draw for the season was in division three between Port Red and Timboon Red with one rink win and 37 shots apiece.
The first day of the Triples with 18 ends knockout, will be held on Sunday 14th of November with the men at Warrnambool and the women at Mortlake. The Over 60 Pairs events on Monday 15th at Terang and Port Fairy are 12 ends of sectional play, with knockout rounds of 15 ends on 22nd November Players to be at the venues at 9 am with a 9.15 roll up.
IN OTHER NEWS:
With our bowling calendars fairly full, most clubs have begun their club events. We are lucky that most events can be held later in the season, with only the Champion of Champions to progress from club to Playing Area finals, in mid-January.
A couple of clubs have tournaments coming up. Koroit have a Norma Murnane Family Day Mixed Fours on Thursday 25th November at 9.30. Timboon have their annual Ladies Triples on Thursday 25th November also.
Lawn Tennis have their "Guyetts' " Mixed Fours tournament on Sunday 5th December with a 12.30 start. City will be starting their Ladies Seaside Triples competition on Wednesday 8th December.
A new Major Tournament for Warrnambool BC is the inaugural Aussie Broadband $12,000 Triples on January 5th & 6th. This is an open Tournament and is attracting some great teams. Also later in January Warrnambool have the $12,000 Ladies Prestige Pairs, which promotes our leading Lady Bowlers, as well as visitors from far and wide.
