Fleming's most recent game as coach was the 2017 Warrnambool and District league flag victory against Nirranda.
And she also led the Dogs to the 2015 premiership win over Old Collegians.
Fleming led the likes of star players Jess Haberfield, Kristie Bolden and Sarah Jacobs in the past.
She's excited about the prospect of working with a very different group.
"It will be a new challenge, I had a similar group for the couple of years I was at Dennington before, this will be a fresh team and a new start," she said.
"That's probably where the excitement is, I haven't worked with this group so there'll be learning each other's ways and I'll learn from that, everyone brings new experiences."

Fleming said the break was valuable for her and the club.
"Definitely, I feel like if I continually coach, I'm saying the same things over and over," she said.
She explained coaching juniors and seniors was very different and she valued the opportunity to lead the Dogs' 17 and under side in 2019. They won the premiership.
Fleming relished the opportunity to introduce youngsters to strategy and game-play.
The new coach is big on junior development and praised outgoing mentor Sharon Kenna for keeping junior talent at the club.
Fleming endeavours to do the same.
She said her summer project was going to be recruiting some experienced players to the support the club's young brigade.
"That mix is critical," she said.
The newly-appointed mentor said the Dogs, which finished seventh this year, would look to catch up before Christmas and get into training in the New Year.
Fleming will lead her daughter Zoe, 18, who is one of the WDFNL's emerging youngsters.
"I wasn't sure how that would go, it's always difficult coaching your own child but in the 17s that seemed to work well," she said.
"We do work well together and she's quite passionate about netball and I really enjoy the sport so it's nice to do."
Fleming added she enjoyed the fun and supportive community Dennington offered.
Coaching South Warrnambool open, division one and 15 and under grades in the Hampden league is also part of her impressive resume.
She also led a 17 and under team to premiership glory at Glenthompson.
Fleming enjoyed a long playing career at Glenthompson, South Warrnambool and Dennington.
Dennington is the third WDFNL club to appoint a new A grade netball mentor this week.
Rachel Mungean has signed on as Allansford coach while Jemmah Lynch has become Old Collegians' mentor.
