In encouraging news, four people were cleared of COVID-19 overnight in Corangamite Shire, leaving zero active cases in the shire.
There remains six active cases in the region across four municipalities:
- Two active cases in Warrnambool in one household
- Zero active cases in Moyne
- Zero active cases in Corangamite
- Four active cases in Glenelg across two households. All cases are linked.
There are five active cases in Colac-Otway Shire.
The COVID testing clinic at Merri Street Warrnambool is open from 8am to 4pm. This clinic is only available via booking by calling 5563 1666 and selecting option five.
The Leura Oval Camperdown testing clinic is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Portland District Health testing clinic is open Sunday November 7 from 9am to 12.30pm by phoning 5521 0387 before arriving.
Victoria recorded 1268 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. There are now 16,662 active cases in Victoria.
Viral fragments detected along Great Ocean Road
COVID-19 viral fragments have been detected in wastewater samples taken from the following regional areas:
- Lorne - unexpected detection for the period from 31 October - 3 November
- Aireys Inlet - repeated unexpected detections for the period from 24 October - 1 November
- Apollo Bay - unexpected detection for the period 26 October - 1 November.
The detections could be an undiscovered new case or cases or could be the result of one or more people in these areas who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.
Anyone who lives in, works in or has visited the areas above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.
