The club had an all-female rink for the first time in its top team in weekend pennant.
Dennington is in division two this season after being relegated from top-grade.
Maureen Drennan said it was the first time the Western District Playing Area - formerly known as the Western District Bowls Division (WDBD) - had ever seen an all-female rink at such a high level of Saturday pennant.
Drennan is part of the team and was also WDBD chairwoman.
"It's certainly (a first) for the club but it's also for our playing area, this is the first time there's been a full rink of four women in a Saturday pennant side," she said.
"I'm not sure about the lower divisions but certainly division one and two.
"We've been lucky to get four women playing in division one with Dennington in different rinks and I suppose there's maybe eight women playing division one all up, so it's not a lot."
The team consists of skipper Sheridan Barling, Polly Rabl, Gayle Swanson and Drennan.
Barling, who competed at this year's State Champions Week women's singles, said each of them had represented their club and region in different bowls formats.
"It's pretty awesome and a privilege the selectors have decided they want to go down that path," she said.
"The four of us collectively over many years have been very successful in the regional events."
The group has played women's fours at the state championships.
Swanson said the foursome was very competitive.
"Obviously being in a minority of female bowlers on a Saturday, I find it tends to make us a bit more competitive because we want to prove to the boys we can match them and in fact beat them," she said.
"Our strength is our resilience and our competitiveness."
And they're determined to attain their goal for this summer.
"Our number one aim is to win the division two premiership and go straight back to division one," Swanson said.
Dennington has been relegated to division two for the first time in years.
But Drennan said the club had risen to top-grade before and could do it again.

And the Dennington Mariners division two side got off to a flying start defeating Koroit White 76-55 shots at Koroit on Saturday.
Dennington president Tony Scott said the club was proud to have its first all-female rink competing in weekend pennant.
"It's great and I think it makes our club stand out from others," he said.
"We've had a number of initiatives now to stand out a bit.
"We're just trying to show we're a small club and forward-thinking and progressive in what we want to do and achieve.
"We want to achieve good things for us but also the sport."
A 'Roll Back the Clock' program and a beginner bowls program are among the upcoming initiatives.
The former is a Bowls Victoria program which involves one-hour exercise sessions, twice-a-week for four weeks.
The beginner bowls program, which will be led by a coach, is about learning the basics of the game and meeting new people.
"Rather than have a come and try day we're going to have a program for three to four weeks," Scott said.
The president added the club was also developing a master plan for the next five years to improve its facility.
Meanwhile, in division one on Saturday, Warrnambool Blue defeated Mortlake Blue 70-56 and City Gold outlasted City Red 58-53.
Dunkeld got the job done against Terang Green with a 53-49 shot victory while Warrnambool Gold beat Koroit Blue 64-51.
Timboon Gold scored a massive 81-38 shot win over Port Fairy Red.
