Dabernig, who has been training in Warrnambool for four months, said the group win was a great result for his hard-working staff and Flying Mascot's owners.
"It's wonderful to have our first group winner from Warrnambool," he told The Standard.
"Our staff have done a wonderful job since we made the move to Warrnambool. We've only got the 15 horses in work and can't wait till our new on-course stables at the track are finished.
"The stable has been having a good run. It was an impressive win by Flying Mascot and a great result for her owners.
"We'll see how she pulls up but she'll be nominated for the $1 million Empire Rose next Saturday and if she happened to win that race there's a $1 million bonus for her owners after winning the Tesio."
The father of three boys said Flying Mascot had taken time to mature.
"Flying Mascot has been a slow maturing horse," Dabernig said.
"She appears to have pulled up well after her Tesio win but we'll just monitor her condition leading into next Saturday's race, if we don't go to town with Flying Mascot next week there's a few other options open to her in the next few weeks."
From her nine starts Flying Mascot has won four races.
