Two opportunistic thieves who stole from a dead man's home this week have been arrested after police seized the stolen items on Friday.

Portland police Sergeant Chris Thomson said two men entered the property on Wednesday, stealing personal and household items.
"Portland police have arrested two people in relation to property stolen from a house in Portland, where a man was located deceased on Tuesday evening," Sergeant Thomson said.

"Police executed a search warrant on Friday at an address in Portland and seized items in connection with the investigation.
"A third person, a 41-year-old female, who is known to police, is to be spoken to by police at a later date, "Sergeant Thomson said.
The offenders are all from Portland.
"One male, aged 46, has been interviewed and is expected to be charged by summons. The second male, aged 31, has been remanded and is due to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court next week," he said.
