Stephanie, 30, was one of three finalists in the running for the Apprentice of the Year category at the virtual ceremony held on Saturday.
While she didn't win that award, the Corangamite Shire parks and gardens team member said it was an honour to be a finalist and she was happy to take out the People's Choice Award.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Stephanie won South West TAFE's Apprentice of the Year Award 2021 after completing a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens. She was shortlisted and interviewed, qualifying for the state training finals.
The People's Choice Awards were open to finalists from individual award categories. The south-west threw its support behind her, casting the most online votes to take out the award, and win a new laptop computer.
Stephanie said horticulture wasn't a career she'd aspired to, more so one she fell into, but said she couldn't be happier after making the change from hairdressing.
