Fifteen local government areas in regional Victoria have hit 95 per cent single COVID-19 vaccine dose coverage for people 15 years and over.
Three of the 15, Warrnambool, Corangamite and Southern Grampians, were in the south-west, with Moyne sitting on the cusp at 94.6 per cent.
Monash University data scientist Dr Behrooz Hassani-Mahmooei said regional Victoria was leading country NSW even though NSW led Victoria state wide.
"If you look at the two states, NSW's rates are driven by high coverage in Sydney, whereas regional Victoria is leading the state rollout here," he said.
Victoria is well ahead of all other states, regionally, with its least vaccinated LGA ahead of 95 per cent of LGAs in WA, SA and Queensland.
Dr Hassani-Mahmooei said the evenness of the rollout in regional Victoria was most impressive, with the least vaccinated LGA still over 85 per cent.
