The event was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organisers made the decision to cancel the three-day event in July 2020.
At the time organisers said the event took months to plan and The Standard understands sites would usually be booked well in advance of the event, which is scheduled to be held in February.
When announcing the cancellation of this year's event, organisers said many exhibitors had inquired about whether the event was going ahead.
However, Saputo told The Standard this week a decision about whether the event will go ahead is yet to be made.
"There has been no decision made as yet on the 2022 Sungold Field Days event," a company spokeswoman said.
The event is set to mark its 40th year in 2022.
Last year was only the second time in the history of the event it has not been held - with the field days also cancelled when the Ash Wednesday bushfires ravaged the region.
The event usually attracts about 400 exhibitors from all over Australia.
It also allows a number of community organisations to raise money and an annual dinner usually raises $10,000 for a charity.
