The Barwon South West Public Health Unit said the three cases, all from the same household, have not yielded any exposure sites but encouraged the community to continue to get tested.

There will be only one testing clinic location tomorrow, Thursday October 14, at the drive through fever clinic at Portland District Health from 10am - 4pm.

This will be reviewed as needed and the community notified.

"Our best defence for our community is for vaccinations - the latest appointment information will be circulated this afternoon.

"To stop the spread of COVID-19: don't visit anyone in their homes or let anyone into your home if they don't live there, limit how much you move around the community, social distance and keep up your hand hygiene.

"If in doubt, please get tested."

Portland District Health has announced additional testing facilities for Wednesday October 13.

A popup drive through testing site for asymptomatic people at Alexandra Park (Westerns Football Oval) will be open from 8.30am to 5pm. Enter via Wyatt Street, Portland - there will be directional signage in place

This testing site is also available for walk-ins who do not have access to a car and therefore cannot access the asymptomatic testing site at Alexandra Park, however anyone wishing to use this testing site must call ahead on 5521 0387.

Portland has recorded three new cases of COVID-19.

Portland District Health announced the new cases on Tuesday afternoon.

"We have been notified that within our local community there are three confirmed cases of COVID-19 from the one cluster all from the same household," the announcement read.

"At this stage we don't know precise details, but the Department of Health and the Barwon South West Public Health Unit will be providing specific information about any exposure sites and we will share that with you as soon as possible."

PDH encouraged anyone who had symptoms to get tested immediately. Drive through testing is available at the PDH COVID-19 Fever Clinic at the hospital site on Bentick St.

Viral fragments of COVID-19 were previously detected in Portland's wastewater samples in Portland on October 4.

The new cases are the first COVID-19 cases in Portland in 2021.
