On Thursday September 30 at 2pm, a Southern Cross resident witnessed a man breaking into her car, which was parked in her driveaway.
The man stole money from the car, at which time he was challenged by the car's owner.
The man then fled in the direction of Koroit, driving a blue Holden Colorado dual cab with a silver coloured bull bar and roll bar.
A description of the man has him at 150-160cm tall, bald and around 60 years of age.
He spoke with a New Zealand accent.
Sergeant Pat Day from Koroit police said anyone with information was asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the Koroit Police station on 5565 8202.
"We are asking members of the public to ensure they lock their vehicles, do not leave keys in the ignition and be proactive about protecting their property," Sergeant Day said.
