South West Healthcare says the IGA supermarket in Timor Street has just been declared a Tier 1 exposure site for staff and a Tier 2 exposure site for the public.
EARLIER:
A WARRNAMBOOL supermarket has closed and staff isolating after a worker tested positive to COVID-19.
On Thursday morning Swinton's IGA Warrnambool alerted the public a worker had returned a positive result.
The staff member worked at the store on:
- Monday, September 27, from 3.30 - 9.30pm
- Tuesday, September 28, from 7.30am - 9.30pm
- Wednesday, September 29, from 6.30am - 4pm
South West Healthcare COVID-19 testing coordinator Sue Anderton said anyone who has visited the supermarket to get tested and isolate.
"Those times and dates are an approximate at this stage so we encourage anyone who has been to IGA to get tested," Ms Anderton said.
"The testing is open and people can drive through."
They and close contact staff members are currently isolating.
Anyone who visited the store in this time is urged to get tested.
South West Healthcare addressed the media at 11am this morning, where they revealed 12 new cases in Warrnambool, bringing the total active cases in Warrnambool to 17.

Victoria has recorded 1438 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
It is the second successive day case numbers have been above 900 new cases.
There were also five coronavirus-related deaths in Victoria on Wednesday along with 65,497 test results received and 34,323 vaccinations administered.
Victoria's active case tally now sits at 11,018.

Victoria is also shaking up its response to COVID-19 as the current outbreak's breaks infection records.
Contact tracers have begun texting links to online forms to help triage cases before their first phone call to many of those who test positive for the virus.
The announcement was made on the same day that Victorian authorities confirmed a record 950 confirmed cases in one day.
It comes as the Victorian Health Department faces more than $95 million in fines after it was charged over hotel quarantine failures.
A filing hearing in Melbourne Magistrates Court is set for October 22.
Seventeen of the charges relate to failing to provide and maintain, as far as reasonably practicable, a working environment that was safe and without risks to health for its employees.
