South West Healthcare has clarified the confirmed case in Warrnambool is not linked to last week's Corangamite Shire case.
The individual was not tested in the region, rather they were screened in Melbourne and were directed to return home to isolate in Warrnambool.
Today's new Corangamite Shire COVID case is however related to the original infection announced last week and is the third person in the family to test positive. They have been isolating.
The Hospital said they would continue to monitor the health of the confirmed cases and would liaise with the Barwon South West Public Health Unit.
SWH CEO Craig Fraser also confirmed of the 2674 tests conducted over the weekend, 98 per cent had returned a negative result.
"We still await some test results from both Saturday and Sunday. Until we receive these results we remain vigilant and ready to respond should any return a positive result. I want to sincerely thank people who are still isolating," he said.
"On Monday, it was great to see an additional 400 tests occur across both Camperdown and Warrnambool. I want to highlight my appreciation for the teams who continue to be flexible in staffing these clinics. The infrastructure will remain in place until we have all tests returned and are confident there is no spread however we will likely change the testing locations dependent on numbers."

The Department of Health has advised of new, confirmed COVID cases in Warrnambool and Corangamite Shire. Those individuals are known close contacts of a confirmed COVID case and have been isolating throughout their infectious period.
Deputy Secretary, Engagement & Delivery in the COVID-19 Public Health team Kate Matson said both cases had been isolating and were low risk.
"We have one new case in Corangamite and one in Warrnambool and those are all existing known close contacts and have been isolating during their infectious period," she said.
"There is no increased risk in those communities from those new cases."
No further detail has been provided.
It comes as 28 COVID cases were recorded in regional Victoria.
The Department of Health also listed Camperdown's VM Body and Beauty to the official list of exposure sites late last night as a Tier 2 venue, but has since removed it.
While the reason is unclear, the venue shared the same address as a Tier 1 site, listed under a different name.

Meanwhile, Victoria recorded 867 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, but the health department said a third party software vendor error had been responsible for incorrect figures in previous days.
The missing numbers include nine cases reportable on September 26 and 140 cases reportable on September 27. These cases will be added retrospectively to Sunday and Monday's totals.
Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley said the error did not have an impact on either the people concerned getting the test results or those who tested positive.
"These were due to a software update by a third-party vendor who supported one of our pathology providers," he said.
"This meant that test results were not reported to the department's central system but were nonetheless still reported to all of those people whose tests were undertaken, including the positive cases who received their advice as per normal from those pathology providers."
There are now 9261 active COVID cases across the state.
Sadly, four Victorians died overnight, including a man in 80s from Whittlesea, a woman in her 80s from Hume, a man in his 70s from Hume and a woman in her 50s from Whittlesea.
There are 375 in hospital, 81 in ICU and 61 are on a ventilator. Of those in hospital yesterday, 78 per cent weren't vaccinated and 17 per cent were partially vaccinated.
There were 49,450 test results received yesterday and 35,160 vaccines administered in state-run hubs yesterday.
About 48 per cent of the over 16 population has received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, and the state is approaching 79 per cent for the first dose. It's expected the 80 per cent first dose mark will be reached throughout the day, with modest easing of restrictions at 11.59pm tonight.
Mr Foley also announced a four-week, app-based home quarantine pilot program for those isolating.
"I am also in a position to advise that today we will be asking a number of those Victorians who are isolating at home at the moment to take part in a pilot program to test, as part of the National Cabinet decisions, the new home quarantine check-in processes which in this case is an app based format which will add to the tools as to how our quarantine system can make sure that people are where they are meant to be," he said.
"This will assist Victorians coming back from both overseas and internationally sooner rather than later as part of the national plan. This app uses a downloaded picture from a smartphone, a selfie, to check in where you are meant to be when you are meant to be there. It links back to location -based technology to confirm both the place you are and your identity at the time of the alert.
"Participants will receive advice via the smartphone app as to their obligation at random times to provide a selfie back to the public health teams, should that not be responded to in a period of time, follow-up calls or visits are made so as to make sure that the person is where they should be.
"The app only uses the selfie and location at the time the people check-in. As I say, you have five minutes from the alert to provide the advice back."
