Maher, who was raised in Winslow, will depart his Caulfield on-course training base by the end of November and his team of horses in full training will be stabled at Ballarat and newly built on-course boxes at Cranbourne.
Previously, the Caulfield yards were used by trainer Rick Hore-Lacy before Maher took them over and trained 18 of his 19 group one winners from them.
Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace are Victoria's leading trainers, said it would be a sad day once his Caulfield stables were closed.
"We've had a lot of luck out of these stables," Maher told The Standard.
"We've had numerous big race winners whether that's on the flat or in jumps come out of our Caulfield stables but they are closing down Caulfield as a training venue and we've had to move with the times.

"I've got nothing but great memories of my years training here. It'll be a sad old day once they're closed. I can vividly remember coming to Caulfield ten years ago from Warrnambool with three horses.
"I leased three boxes from Aquanita before branching out to take over Rick's stables. The ten years have gone really quick.
"We've got 80 horses in work at Caulfield and they'll be divided up with 40 going to Ballarat and the other 40 to new on-course boxes at Cranbourne.
"We're building new boxes at our Ballarat on-course facility and works are well underway at Cranbourne."
The Melbourne Racing Club has signed a new lease arrangement with the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust which will see racing continuing at Caulfield for the next 65 years.
