Earlier: South West Healthcare has advised of a number of exposure sites in Warrnambool linked to a confirmed COVID-19 case.
While details of most sites have not yet been released, the hospital confirmed they were working closely with the Department of Health and the Barwon South West Public Health Unit.
However, the Department of Health is slowly updating exposure sites to its website, including Terang Co-Op's IGA supermarket which was listed as a tier two exposure site from 6.30pm to 7.15pm on September 17.
Other sites are expected to be added tonight and tomorrow morning.
A pop-up testing site is being established by Warrnambool's SES unit at Friendly Societies' Park in response to the development and will open tomorrow for asymptomatic people between the hours of 8am - 10pm Saturday and Sunday.
Another site is being established at Camperdown's Leura Oval which will open from 8am - 8pm Saturday and Sunday.
Residents will need to register for testing here.
SWH Warrnambool Vaccination Centre will open for symptomatic screenings only - bookings are essential by calling 5563 1666 and choosing option five.
The hospital has suspended all visits but will make an exception to visits related to end of life, one birth partner and one parent of a child.
While it is unclear if there has been any incidents of transmission locally, Deakin University chair of epidemiology Catherine Bennett said she opposed any lockdown measures for the city in response to the circumstances.
"You shouldn't have to go into lockdown if you get one case in Warrnambool," she said.
Today's revelation comes after a routine wastewater sampling in Warrnambool returned a positive result yesterday with the period of interest between September 19-21.
The Warrnambool area had not reported a positive result since January 27.
It's the second wastewater detection in south-west Victoria, following Hamilton.
