Cobden export Sam Walsh, in just his third season, finished fourth with 30 votes.

The Carlton midfielder finished behind Port Adelaide's Ollie Wines (36 votes), Western Bulldogs' Marcus Bontempelli (33) and Melbourne's Clayton Oliver (31).

They were the first ever quartet to all poll 30 votes or more.

The 21-year-old, who was the 2018 number one draft pick, followed in the footsteps of a couple of Carlton greats.

Walsh scored the equal-most votes of any Blue in Brownlow history.

Greg Williams (1994) and Chris Judd (2010) also polled 30 votes when they won Brownlow Medals playing for the club.

Zach Merrett, also of Cobden origins, picked up 20 votes. He and Walsh were named on the wings in this year's All-Australian team.

Fellow Cobden Bombers export Ben Cunnington was North Melbourne's leading vote-getter with 15.

It was his highest Brownlow tally as he surpassed his 13 votes in 2014. He only played 15 games this season which highlights how well he played.

Brisbane Lions' Hugh McCluggage, who hails from South Warrnambool Roosters in the Hampden league, polled 10 votes.

He finished third of the Brisbane vote-getters behind Jarryd Lyons and Dayne Zorko.

Fremantle's Sean Darcy, with seven votes, was another Cobden product rewarded for his fine season.

McCluggage and Darcy made the All-Australian squad this year.

Geelong forward and Dartmoor export Jeremy Cameron received six votes while Cobden product Gary Rohan polled one vote.

North Warrnambool Eagles product Josh Corbett also picked up a vote during his season with the Gold Coast Suns.

David Astbury, who hails from Mininera and District league club Tatyoon, also polled one vote in his final year with Richmond.

He retired a triple premiership player.

Portland's Rowan Marshall claimed four votes for his efforts with St Kilda.
