Warrnambool police Senior Constable Ash Witham said the 2019 motorbike worth $4000 was stolen from the driveway of an address in Kelp Street, not far from Apco service station, between 3.30am and 8.30am on Sunday morning.
She said it was probably pushed a couple of blocks east and dumped near the Warrnambool East Kindergarten on Lava Street East, where the offender made a poor attempt to hide it in bushes.
"The keys were with the victim and the offender has cut all the wires when it was dumped," she said.
"We are appealing for anyone who saw someone with the motorbike during the early hours of Sunday to contact the Warrnambool police station on 5560 1333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
Senior Constable Witham said there was also damage caused to the Dennington oval fence early at the weekend.
The steel pipe fence was badly bent at the south end of the oval and it's expected that the vehicle involved in hoon driving would have been damaged.
Anyone with information is requested to contact police.
