EVERY now and again a Hampden league club lands a gem plying their trade in a surrounding district league.
That couldn't be any more correct when it comes to Sarah Tunstall.
The Portland attacker, who crossed to Hanlon Park from South West District league outfit Westerns for the 2020 season, relished the chance to step up a grade.
And didn't she thrive.
Tunstall grabbed three vital votes in the final round of play to edge out South Warrnambool's Katie Pattison and Koroit's Rhiannon Cuomo, who both polled 16, in a thrilling count on Saturday.
"I wasn't expecting it, it was such a surprise but I'm really happy," Tunstall said.
"It really was (nerve-racking in those last few rounds of the count).
"I absolutely loved the challenge of playing on different people, I think it really helped my game."
Tunstall said her move to Portland helped her build strength and her netball smarts.
