The outlook for October to December for Warrnambool points to a likely chance of rainfall above the median 158mm for the three months.
In Mortlake there is also a likely chance of rainfall above the median 155mm for October to December and in Hamilton there is a likely chance of rainfall above median of 139mm for the same period.
Stock agent Jack Kelly, from J and J Kelly Livestock Agents, says a wet spring will extend what has largely been a good winter for farmers.
"The only thing more rain will do is help (farmers)," he said.
He said a wetter than average spring would extend the season for farmers and provide more options for selling livestock.
"When you've got no grass you've got to sell," he said.
"The season does look very good, the prices are still good. A good season gives you more options with what you're selling."

BOM climatologist Dr Andrew Watkins said nationally it had been the wettest winter since 2016.
He said the main reason behind the Bureau's prediction for a wetter than average spring was a climate driver called the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD).
"We've currently got a negative IOD - a phenomenon which typically brings an increased chance of rainfall to southern and eastern Australia," he said.
Another relevant climate driver, known as the El Nio-Southern Oscillation, is likely to remain neutral with no La Nia event expected in the coming months.
