Here are some of the emerging youngsters who will be ones to watch in 2022.
Zahra Walker (South Rovers)
Outstanding season from the midcourter, including being named her team's best player in rounds three and 18. Won the 17 and under league best and fairest in 2019.
Charlotte van der Starre (Russells Creek)
Made her A grade debut in round one and gained experience in a variety of positions including centre, wing defence and goal defence. A high vote-getter in the junior best and fairest counts.
Only in her mid-teens. Playing centre, which is a big leadership role on court, is impressive.
Zoe Fleming (Dennington)
What a great learning experience for the goalie this year.
Club legend Lane Keane didn't play much and many other premiership players like Jess Haberfield weren't there this year.
So more responsibility fell to Fleming and her 126 goals from 12 matches and four appearances in the best players was a great return.
Layne Porter (Merrivale)
Coach Elisha Sobey spoke highly of Porter this season.
Played midcourt and featured in the best in round six against Russells Creek.
Bailee Overweter (Panmure)
Youngster playing her first full year of A grade stepped into wing defence when Bulldogs' star Stacy Dunkley went down with a torn achilles.
Gives her all and was in the team's best when it beat Russells Creek in the final round.
