A high pressure system is developing to the north-east of Victoria today, and is expected to strengthen during Tuesday, preventing a cold front from moving any further east than clipping Victoria's south-west corner on Tuesday.
The high will then move east over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday as another cold front approaches from the west resulting in a warm to hot, strengthening northerly flow over the state on Thursday.
For the week ahead - on Tuesday there's an 80 per cent chance of rain in the afternoon with a top of 18 degrees, Wednesday partly cloudy 18, Thursday cloudy 23, Friday there's a 90 per cent of rain 15, Saturday showers 13 and Sunday showers 14.
