Camperdown will be home to a new manufacturing facility creating nutritional supplements, sports drinks and long-life milk to export to China and south-east Asia.
Worth around $5 million, the Australasian Solutions factory on Depot Road will cover 7000-square metres and create up to 50 jobs over the first five years of operation.
Corangamite Shire Council recently approved the development and mayor Ruth Gstrein said it had the potential to integrate with Camperdown Dairy's operations.
"They're next-door neighbours," she said.
"The development is expecting about 50 jobs which is really good for encouraging people to look in regional areas for work and we're very pleased to have them on board in the industrial zone."
The Camperdown Dairy factory is currently under construction.
It will be a "state of the art" aseptic filling plant, powder blending and capsule filling facility, said Australasian Solutions director Tom Lashan.
The factory will be developed by Australasian Solutions for Advanced Nutrition Services to service an overseas market of nutritional products, marketed under the brand name of Australian Nutrition and Sports Hong Kong.
The company purchased two lots on Depot Road and will make an application to Corangamite Shire to develop an industrial hub on the second lot.
"It will create sports nutrition, nutritional drinks, aged care products and kids nutritional drinks all for export," Mr Lashan said.
"There's been a bit of a slowdown with COVID-19 lockdowns but we should have the plant up and running within 12 months.
"It's been five years in the making to put all the pieces together."
Mr Lashan said he was "absolutely" looking to align with Camperdown Dairy.
"Our neighbour may be able to provide us with the milk powder," he said.
"As a property developer, Australasian Solutions believes strongly in the potential of the south-west region of Victoria and has a strategy to encourage an eclectic range of commercial enterprises to share the benefits of the Camperdown location."
Camperdown Dairy chief executive Peter Skene was contacted for comment.
