League officials met online on Tuesday night and decided the latest grand finals could be played was October 9.
The league's four-week final series could be completed if it started on September 11-12.
Clubs want a week's worth of training before re-starting the season.

Community sport is sidelined in regional Victoria as the state deals with a COVID-19 outbreak.
The lockdown is in place until Thursday, September 2 at the earliest, ruling out the next two weekends for competition.
Mininera and District league president John Box said playing AFL grand final weekend was a possibility.
The AFL grand final is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, most likely interstate.
"We are trying to find out about that," he said.
"We might be able to play on a Sunday or seeing it's going to be interstate I don't think it will have a great deal of impact on us.
"I don't think we're going to be allowed crowds. We've all come to that conclusion."
Box said Mininera and District, which usually runs a five-team, four-week finals series, was mindful it might have to play a shortened format.
"It all depends on how many weeks (the state government) gives us but I thought it was important to let the clubs know the 25th would be the cut-off date to start," he said.
