Multiple lockdowns have robbed Cobden of that luxury, but in some ways, it's a positive.
The Bombers are brimming with confidence and have the belief they can generate form despite spending weeks on the sidelines.
"Overall, I think we've been really lucky this season. We've won on skill, rather than momentum," coach Sophie Hinkley said.
We haven't fallen into games and won like that so we're very confident in our playing group across the board going into finals.

"We haven't fallen into games and won like that so we're very confident in our playing group across the board going into finals.
"It is really disappointing (not to be playing for the next couple of weeks) but we're probably in the best position across the other clubs. I think we're probably in the most positive position."
The Hampden league on Friday announced its final home-and-away round would be cancelled due to the state's looming COVID-19 lockdown.
The shutdown - which is expected to last until at least September 2 - has thrown sporting leagues into disarray. The Hampden league's finals series, which was scheduled to start this coming Saturday, is facing an uncertain future.
The league is yet to make a final call on the fate of its season.
Hinkley said Cobden's open grade, division one and under 17 grades were all due to compete in finals.
She was proud of the club's depth and said it could hold its head high for its season to date.
"I think from the outside looking in we've been recognised as being quite a skillful side," Hinkley said.
"We have such a depth in our club and in our playing group. Probably the thing that has lacked has been that ability to face adversity and maintain that momentum and resilience.
"We've certainly been able to do that this season so as a coach I've been really confident we'd be able to maintain that through to win a premiership but we'll see if we get the chance."

The second-year coach backed her players to maintain fitness in the shutdown period and flagged they'd be ready for resumption at any point.
"We have every confidence that everyone knows what they have to do to be right to play and be right to return," Hinkley said.
"We're probably lucky we do have that base line of skill and fitness and we've shown that coming in and out of lockdowns.
"That probably hasn't been a worry for us. At this stage we have that depth for fresh legs if people are getting tired."
