Warrnambool police are warning they are cracking down on illegal parties during COVID-19 restrictions after two homes were raided last Friday night.
Warrnambool police Sergeant Lee Wheatley said 10 tickets for $1817 each were issued at one Warrnambool home where a large number of teenagers had gathered.
"There were two house parties last week," he said.
"There were 10 tickets issued at one Warrnambool residential home and a heap of people fled from that address when police arrived.
"Each ticket for breaching the regulations of the chief health officer is $1817, so it's a very expensive exercise."
It's understood that one fine was issued at the other household gathering.
Sergeant Wheatley said people needed to be aware that home visits were illegal in most circumstances and parties were definitely not allowed.
"Police will be checking and if we find blatant breaches of the regulations we will be enforcing those regulation breaches - people can expect to receive a fine," he said.
