The two-time winning group one trainer said Kings Full would be suited by the 2500 metres.

"I've been wanting to get Kings Full out in distance and he gets his chance here," Purcell told The Standard.

"I've only had him for the five runs and in my opinion he's got stayer all over him.

"Kings Full won a 2000m race as a young horse overseas and was successful in an 1800m race on the Gold Coast.

"It's just taken a bit of time to get him right to run out a solid 2500 metres and I reckon he's ready now.

"I thought he was unlucky last start when he ran fifth at Mildura. He was held up for a couple of strides at a vital stage.

"The race at Mildura was over 2000m and that's got him ready for the 2500m of Saturday's race."

Former Warrnambool apprentice jockey Daniel Moor has been booked to ride the rising seven-year-old at Victoria's last metropolitan meeting for the 2020-21 season.

"I will not be giving out many instructions to Daniel," Purcell said.

"Daniel is a top jockey. He doesn't need to be burden with instructions.

"My only request will be to have Kings Full travelling mid-field in the run.

"I'm confident Kings Full should finish the race off strongly."

The Warrnambool Grand Annual Steeplechase-winning trainer said he had been satisfied with the results his stable had produced in the 2020-21 season.

"We seem to get between the 20 to 25 winners each season and that's pretty good for the amount of horses we have in work," he said.

"I would like to think we may finish the season off on a positive note with Kings Full winning on Saturday."

Kings Full is a $25 chance in the early betting markets for the race.
