Lindy Vandermeer and Paul Laws and their four children Topsea Vanlaws, Tex Vanlaws, Boston Vanlaws and Scout Vanlaws fell in love with Koroit after travelling around in a caravan for about three years.
They were told earlier this year they had to move out of their rental property and were desperately seeking a new home.
Ms Vandermeer said the family was hoping to find a farm house that they could live in and help maintain.
However, after months of searching she was started to worry they may be forced to seek a property elsewhere.
Luckily, the family has been able to secure a rental in Port Fairy.

Ms Vandermeer said she had been contacted via Facebook by someone who offered the family a rental for the next nine months.
"We are super grateful and blessed to everyone who has helped out," she said.
Ms Vandermeer said some people had even offered them a place to live on a temporary basis to ensure they wouldn't be left out in the cold.
She said the family was delighted they could stay in the area.
However, they will be on the lookout again in nine months for a new rental.
"For all the people who said they weren't quite sure about renting the house out as it was empty they have nine months to get it in shape for when we need to move again," Ms Vandermeer said.
She said the rental would allow the children to continue attending school in Koroit and Warrnambool.
