His other goal is closer to home - he'd love to play Hampden league senior football for Koroit alongside older brothers Jack and Paddy.

"Playing AFL is great but I would love to play Koroit seniors as well," Finn said.

"That's nearly a bigger goal for me, playing with my brothers."

Finn's sporting pathways are opening up.

The multi-talented teenager will represent Victoria at under 15 level later this year and has earned a scholarship to Xavier College in Melbourne in 2022.

Finn won gold with Victoria at the School Sport Australia under 12 championships three years ago.

This year's under 15 competition will be played in a different format.

"There's two teams and we're just facing off against each other," he said.

"Because of coronavirus (border restrictions) we can't go anywhere (for nationals) so we'll just go to Melbourne to play one game.

"I am so excited for it. I am pretty happy with myself. I've been playing pretty well."

The chance to board at Xavier College from year 10 is an opportunity Finn couldn't pass up.

"I have been travelling a lot for sport - footy, basketball and cricket as well - and I think it might be easier boarding up there," he said.

"I have family up there as well and mum (Stacey) said she'll come and visit me as much as she can."

Finn said he would embrace hard work in the classroom too.

"I love school actually. I try hard. I might not be the best at it," he said.

School football commitments will take priority for Finn next year but he will try and play for Koroit when possible.

"I am there nearly every night. The coaches down there are great," he said.

"Chris McLaren and Andrew Foster help me a heap as well as my dad (Nick), he is my under 16s coach."

Finn conceded he was "a bit hard on himself" when it came to judging his football performances.

But he believes he's playing his role for the Saints' under 16 and under 18 teams.

"I am clean with the ball. I feel I have a lot of time with the ball and can just give that first option," Finn said.

"I don't do many big things but when I have the ball I do the right thing, I get my teammates involved."

The Saints mean a lot to him.

His father Nick is a club legend and is his current under 16 coach.

Mum Stacey was a star netballer who has coached the open grade side.

His two brothers and younger sister Shelby also play for the club.

Then there's his extended family - aunties and uncles and the like.

"All our family loves sport so if I am playing footy, the whole family comes down and watches, and that's the same when my sister is playing basketball," Finn said.
