NORTH Warrnambool Eagles footballers Luke Wines and Bailey Jenkinson will contest their striking charges at the independent tribunal on Thursday night.

Wines (two weeks) and Jenkinson (one) were offered suspensions stemming from the Eagles' clash with Cobden on Saturday.

Bomber Ryleigh McVilly will also face the tribunal charged with striking.

THREE players have been cited for striking incidents following a heated battle between two Hampden league football clubs.

Cobden's Ryleigh McVilly was referred to the tribunal while North Warrnambool Eagles' Luke Wines and Bailey Jenkinson have been offered suspensions.

McVilly was reported for striking Eagle Jett Bermingham during Saturday's clash at Bushfield Recreation Reserve.

It was referred to the match review panel and assessed as intentional, high contact and high impact.

He is likely to face an AFL Western District independent tribunal on Thursday.

Wines was offered a two-match ban for striking, an incident which was regarded as intentional, high contact and medium impact.

Jenkinson can accept a one-week ban for striking.

The incident was considered intentional, high contact and low impact.

North Warrnambool Eagles have until Wednesday morning to accept or challenge the bans.

Both clubs have copped a $1000 fine for a melee.

There were spot fires throughout the intense battle with a major melee breaking out in the fourth quarter.

North Warrnambool Eagles won the match 19.8 (122) to 9.8 (62).

The second-ranked Eagles play South Warrnambool at Friendly Societies' Park in round 11 in a top-three clash this weekend.

Cobden, which has won three of its 10 games, hosts fourth-placed Camperdown at Cobden Recreation Reserve.
