The undefeated Bombers stretched their Hampden league netball winning streak to 10 games on Saturday.
A fast start helped them overcome top-three side North Warrnambool Eagles 54-40 at Bushfield.
MORE NETBALL: Coach rates Blues' win best of their season
Midcourter Hammond (pregnancy) will miss the remainder of the season.
"With me currently not playing a full game it means we need some other people to push forward into wing attack positions," Hinkley said.
"We are very lucky to have someone like Jess Wheadon and someone like Sophie Blain and Molly Hutt to fill those places.
"We're feeling very confident in our ability to cover those positions and work well as a team so we're not having people working in isolation in a new position.
"Jess Wheadon came on at half-time into centre and that was something we planned on working through, looking at different midcourt options and using our versatility across the court."
The Bombers burst out to a 16-7 lead at the first break which put the Eagles on the backfoot.
It was a fast-paced contest with plenty of tips and intercepts from both sides.
"I was really happy with our start," Hinkley said.
"We came out in the first quarter and just had pressure across the court and were moving the ball really well.
"I certainly felt like it was a fast game on the court and we had nice timing in our attack that allowed the ball to flow.
"We were really happy with the fact we could win each quarter even though they weren't as substantial margins as the first quarter.
"It was certainly positive signs to push that out and not become complacent."
The Bombers, who are the only undefeated side in the competition, had one injury concern with Hutt suffering a corkie.
Hinkley hopes it's not severe.
