The bottom-placed Bloods take on ladder-leader Cobden in Hampden league netball on Saturday.
The round seven fixture is the ninth week of competition, owning to coronavirus-enforced fixture changes.
Each team would have played each other once after Saturday's games.
Bloods coach Liz Fowler said the Bloods, who go into the match with a 1-7 win-loss record, were a work in progress.
They're averaging 34 goals for and 44 goals against a game.
"We're trying to string four quarters together by keeping our defensive pressure up and working on our attacking plays," Fowler said.
"It is improving. We're probably up to a good three quarters at the moment.
"We have been really competitive and I am happy with how we're going.
"We're finishing strong; we've just been having little lulls occasionally early on in the games."
Fowler said eliminating lapses took time with a new team.
"We're having quarters where we're equalling the top teams or even beating the top teams," she said.
"I am really happy with how the girls are going - they're definitely being competitive. The girls are really positive, turning up every week to training and putting in 100 per cent."
Fowler said it was "exciting to watch" Terang Mortlake's progression each week.
Cobden is the only undefeated team.
